I wish I would have seen this movie when it came out. They mention the financial collapse & buying gold like 30x throughout the movie. If people would have seen it then and made some investments they would have at least 2x their investment.

I thought Sasha was blah in this. No acting what so ever.

I personally loved this film. Sasha’s performance was minimal at best, but the simplicity and range of the film felt very independent and far from forceful… sort of like the director was letting the audience decide if the concept of companionship was one to be praised or shunned. The ending gave me a notion of the type of male clientele many female companions may run into, in this profession.

Many of the male businessmen in this movie treat her so raw, I think these types love young girls working alone.

I think all women should work in teams, and any management should be female. I have always thought this would keep the industry more safe and professional (this is how the Asian women work in my part of the country). Having experienced female management keeps young girls from falling for easy to spot traps.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your blog, and especially this entry hit fairly close to home for me, especially the part about being yourself with your clients. It is exhausting enough to pretend to like all of them and to be interested and interesting that I can not imagine also having to be someones blank canvis, though sometimes it does happen when I know that they have a precise idea in mind.

In reply to Charlotte Shane. I don't really get Sasha Grey's appeal myself, but I can chalk that up to different strokes. I found this movie to be yet another "I'm a sex worker so I'm emotionally dead" piece for the most part. Sigh.

In reply to cee. Happy ending to my love life, though (so to speak): I now have a partner who does not feel the need to have me as his dirty little secret, and he's tactfully out and proud of what I do without bragging about it. :)
