I was in the business for several years before I started my graduate program. I took two years off, and had no idea this unbelievable wave of change in the industry occurred. So, now I have my Master’s, no job, lots of debt and I am trying to get back into the business. It has been absolutely hellish. Eros has been a nightmare. They took my money and refused to post my ad. I can’t speak to a human being. I feel so stuck. I would have never believed they would have allowed their company to tank like this. Offering an inferior product and simultaneously taking our money is so indicative of abusing our roles as sex workers, as we don’t have status as legitimate business people. Frustrated and burned out already.

There is absolutely no human replies to emails nor are phone calls answers, email responsese are only automated. If Eros.com or ErosAd.com owes any of you money you will need to send a email to all of their addresses stating you want a refund (most of the emails wil bounce back) then do a who is search, get their hosting providers company name and file a complaint with them. Eros claims they keep the money in your account to use at a later time,that’s bullshit. I highly doubt any new ads will be placed from within the USA. Get your money back….we sure did…as soon as a complaint is filed and only then will get her a human response to you email and your card that was debited/charged will be credited within 24-48hrs.

I have been an independent provider off and on for the past 12 years, never once having had issue with them. I came back last week and submitted an ad to run for a month, paid $270, and haven’t heard a word since. I uploaded all the required identification materials, thinking I was dealing with a company I had a long standing working relationship with, only to find out from extensive research thereafter, about all the news laws, guidelines, raids and new ownership of Eros. You will be sending your monies into an internet abyss with no return. I couldn’t be more disappointed about all of it. How much more will this country digress under its current “leadership”, leadership in fact that cares not in the least about our safety, the well-being of any American in fact, and are bigots to the core who have themselves engaged in solicitation, coercion and exploitation of women in their own lives. Its utterly disgusting and they have no idea how unsafe they have just made it for an always already marginalized and vulnerable population. I am grossly beside myself knowing what once was a space of autonomy, anonymity, and freedom to actually support one’s self independently in a society set up against us, has been erased. We are once again left to our creative prowess and gifts of improvisation, but unsafe in the meantime. I am a convicted felon (15 years past) and have only been able to survive and pursue an education in hopes of overcoming that fate etched in stone, because of the flexibility advertising on Eros afforded me all these years. I have been able to provide shelter, food, clothing and all the necessary things my children required because of my independent status via Eros. I never had to stand in line for food stamps or government assistance because of Eros. I never had to call a power company and ask for an extension on my bill because of Eros. I never had to steal food or clothes because of Eros. I could close my eyes at night and rest well knowing I had not only survived but managed to keep things afloat another day because of Eros. I am a graduate student today because of Eros. Without Eros, I go back to being someone reminded of my felony status day in and out, where no one wants to hider you regardless of strides made in one’s life over the past 15 years, struggling in all the ways I did prior to survive, because of this government’s decidedly strict crackdown on what? Its not a war on human trafficking. It’s a war on the very humans it claims it is trying to protect.
