Would be a hilarious torpedo to this BS if, say, the media got an announcement, from local pimps, stating that, "Super Bowl weekend we are all given our employees the day off, for lack of business." And, yes, it should be phrased **exactly** that way, not as given them time off for the game, or anything else, but because they don't have any business.

Honestly.. I would love to see the day when someone has both the guts, and the moral stance, to **require** that any organization that claims to be professional, governmental, or otherwise holding the best interests of the public in mind, be fined, and/or jailed, for actively lying to the public, and being unable to prove their case, or show valid, verifiable, data on any of their asserted statistics. But.. since these people have political support, and even a lot of public support (from the gullible people that believe them), i seriously doubt it will ever happen. And, what would politicians themselves then do, when they need bullshit laced propaganda to drive them to their next elected position? Hilary certainly seems to still think the drug war, and death penalties, is going to gain her points, along with hawkish belief in military intervention, for example. Being told you will be punished (and actually having it happen) for lying about the effects of either, and promoting them as beneficial, instead of the truth, would seriously crimp the style of so, so, so many political advocates, and politicians, not to mention those making bank on all the arrests, crime statistics, and paraphernalia associated with such causes.

That said, being the highly cynical person I am, when dealing with many of these things, truth is rarely as profitable as fear and the promise to "fix" what ever you just made everyone scared of.
