I believe humans can detect pheromones, largely because a) people are always telling me how good I smell, and people are generally very nice to me 🙂 and b)I love to stick my nose right into my man’s armpit.

I don’t know about purchasing a perfume/lotion with pheromones in them, but I will say that a woman’s natural scent (and presumably her natural pheromones) is a huge turn on for me. I recall the smell of an ex from nearly 10 years ago. She would come home from school, throw her stuff on my bed and bury me in hugs and kisses. After an entire day of running around campus and being busy, she’d still have the faintest smell of her deodorant, but mostly it was her sweet natural smell that would bless my nostrils. I will be the first to admit that it could have just been the girl/relationship, but to this day I follow my nose when it comes to woman. If I don’t like her natural smell (and by extension, her taste), I know that isn’t for me.

There’s something to be said for scents in our workplace; I found a super secret formula of essential oils that totally works for me, I get comments on my scent at least a dozen times in a regular shift.

Usually I am told that I smell “like syrup”, but “in a good way”. I think it definitely helps me, but at the same time, it took a little while to find the one that did.

I used to live in Baltimore and Eternity was huge in the early nineties. A woman has stuck out from my memory because she used Chanel No. 5. Some boys did not like the scent, and I knew it from a past girlfriend. Then again I don’t need pheromones as a subtle enough trigger to prey upon my animal instincts and spend a ton of cash as a result. A woman in a strip club can wear Coppertone suntan lotion and that works for me.

The problem with the pheromones is you need a functioning vomeronasal organ to detect them. They aren’t detected through the normal sense of smell. Humans probably don’t have a vomeronsal any more (there is some debate) and if it is there it definitely doesn’t work, (no nerve endings where it suppose to be). Save your money and get a pedicure

When I started experimenting with Realm and the Paris Hilton stuff, I did see a small but noticable increase in my averages. But they also smell GOOD on their own. Realm has sort of a cinnamon/clove dry grandma perfume scent that older guys and young black dudes really go for, and the Paris Hilton Sheer smells a little different on everyone. For one friend of mine, it smells like bananas on her skin. On me, it’s kind of flowery and girly, and younger dudes love it.
