In reply to Kat. No Kat, people know the drink hustle now. I've only been to one strip club and I know it. We know you're not even getting alcohol in the drink, and it's going to be over-priced, carry other wise you would be too drunk to work from all the drinks before we even showed up. It shows we aren't morons. That's about it.

I’ve been doing this for only a month. I talk to everyone and I am always real. I’m as real as real gets but I love what I do and I make sure all my guests know that. What I do is I tell them all about how I am in the back and what I like. I also talk about how I am in the bedroom and I make intense eye contact with everyone. I am a talker and usually do better during the day because I’m about to build rapport with my customers and already have regulars.

I really liked this post. I don’t see myself dancing forever of course but doing this is helping me in a few situations. Its helping as an outlet for me because I’m a crazy 30 something sex addict going through a separation who definitely dosent feel fulfilled in the bedroom and it also helps pay for my much needed lawyer. I can honestly say I love what I do and the whole club knows it too.

I’m an old white guy. Profiling-wise, I would only ask, if you’re going to consider me a bad prospect, don’t ignore me entirely. Invest the 20 seconds it would take to walk over and say “would you like a dance?”

Typically, if I’m interested, I’ll ask a dancer for a dance before she gets around to hitting me up for a drink. I guess it’s fair to call me cheap, as I would rather spend on additional dancers rather than on tipping. I do offer a drink after the dances, but of course most say no.

Agreed about the drinks. This rule goes for all forms of sex work: if the guy isn’t willing to spring for a cheap (non-hustled) item for you, then he’s probably not going to give you the money you really want.

I was so guilty of the “approach from behind” thing at one of the clubs I worked at, but mostly because the chairs and floor layout was really messed up. Approaching from the front rarely worked either, because they’d see me coming 50ft away while I wrestled aside chairs and stools and stuff just to get to them so they’d plenty of time to work on their rejection. The club only worked well when it was packed with bodies.

Never had a problem with remembering guys who wanted me to stop by after stage, except they’d never remember asking me to come over. Very irritating.

I agree with Kat, I use drinks as a way to gauge a dude’s willingness to spend money. I’ve never encountered someone who wouldn’t buy me a drink who also wanted dances.

Plus, I like to be a little buzzed at work, and I refuse to pay for my own drinks.

Excellent advice. I’m almost a cougar, excited!

Holy crap, this is so true! That approach when they can see you thing is touted around in the pickup artist community too lol. I have a friend (seriously, although idc if you all think it’s me because let’s face it, everyone has “a friend”) who’s awkward and all about the cougars. He also believes strippers like him for more than his money… so someone is well schooled ’round these parts… because that’s predictably his favorite lady. I can’t tell if its her skill or his desperation that makes him say “I wish she was single”. Probably a mix of the two I spose. Nice post.
