Being a Lesbian, an Actress and a Sex worker I think the dumb-ass label is appropriate. My director tells me what he wants, then I spend time researching the subject. So when I go on stage I can be believable and not some cartoon.

Total fail production. They were using the premise to sell sex, not the show. If you wish to portray a stripper, on stage, and do not wish to get fully unclothed there are body suits for that, in enough colors to closely match skin tone.

This wasnt theater, it was cheap titillation posing as social commentary. Disingenuous and trite.

Yes, well. As I said, I do feel bad.

I remember taking this playwriting course in college, and one of the other students wrote a scene that took place in a strip club. One chick was teaching another how to work the pole in the club before it was open. And I was like, yeah, that’d never happen. Trust me, you spend as little time in that club as you can. You learn when it’s slow.

I wouldn’t write about longshoremen, welders, bankers, cardiologists, or ranch hands without educating myself about lonshoremen, welders, bankers, cardiologists or ranch hands. Why do people feel like they can write about strip clubs without doing the research? The mind boggles.

Man, Presidents of the United States have used the word “dumbasses.” Making a big deal out of not saying “dumbasses” doesn’t make you intelligent, adept, informed, or incisive at critiquing the subtleties of the theater; what it makes you is the kind of person who’d rather needle someone about a colloquialism than present a coherent argument against the well-presented points made from experience in this review.

Incidentally, the reviewer said the lingerie was unflattering to the actors. That’s a costuming problem, not a problem with female bodies.

And “definitely” is not spelled the way you think it’s spelled.
