I have wondered what happened to Sarah Katherine for some time now, ever since she disappeared from Live Journal. So this interview has helped me to catch up and know that she is doing well. I’ve missed you, SK.

I drank while working in Vegas about 75% of the time. Other geographic locations, not so much. I was also raised Mormon. haha

Love this interview. I’ve enjoyed reading Katharine Lewis’s work. Her experience may not have always been mine, but that’s why I like reading memoirs by sex workers; we are not all the same, yet we all were sort of outlaws making our way through life.

Patriarchal Pat just doesn’t get it. That’s okay, PP’s probably just a Mormon.

I hope this blog can show all sides of the sex industry instead of blindly claiming it's empowering every single day in every way possible. No instance when you're working to earn money can be strictly labeled a feminist choice.

So when is your book “You’re Not A Junkie Whore When You Claim Sexwork Is A Feminist Choice” coming out? Thanks for living to the stereotype of sexworkers as emotionally broken drug addicts like you ordered it from a catalog. Using your body to pay for horse is really sex positive.

Why have I never heard of this blog? Thank you so much for posting this. Finally someone online advocating for sex workers in a realistic way. I’ve been a fan of Sarah Lewis’ writing for a while, I find her to be a very down-to-earth writer who doesn’t just glorify the empowerment & money, she isn’t afraid to discuss the ups AND downs of this job. Not to speak for all sex workers but, among me and my friends in the biz, these seem to be really common issues. Well done Tits&Sass.

I actually didn’t drink or do drugs when I was stripping. I promised myself that if it were something I needed to numb myself to do, it was time to find something else to do. I doubt anyone mistook me for Mormon, though I was putting myself through school. However, I did get asked several times why I was slumming and I didn’t make the kind of money the other dancers were claiming to make. I don’t regret what I did, either, but after a year it ceased being empowering and became soul-sucking. Like working at Wal*Mart or something.
