Klute may be the best movie Hollywood has ever made with an escort as the main character. The problem is that it ought to have some competition for that position. If you took the script to “Norma Rae” and reworked it so the main character was an escort, you’d get a character much more like most of the escorts I’ve known than Bree Daniels was.
