AIMs closure had everything to do with avoiding future litigation’s and class action suits. Aims “release forms” were over broad, over reaching, unclear and confusing. Non performers were placed in a essentially a public data base along with performers who never were informed about how long the historical data would be accessible and by whom. There are many reasons to support non condom use for adult performers but AIM was flawed very, very flawed. Ask anyone who had their private information blasted all over the Internet, there were about 24,000.

So lets not rewrite the history of AIM, they did a huge disservice to thousands of patients then tried to avoid responsibility and accountability by shutting down.
