If anyone wants to donate to him you can at www.singerforcolorado.com, he's done a bunch of great stuff: 1) he finally passed a bill instituting criminal penalties for wage theft; this previously required the employee to sue and this has been his pet issue for a long time; 2) flood and disaster recovery stuff; 3) sponsored the bill implementing amendment 64 (voted in by voters but needed to implement taxes and regulations and DUI limits on legal pot); 4) has volunteered in DV shelter and worked in child/family services; 5) he's been a HUGE proponent of more accessible and transparent government including Transparency Jeffco - did you all read about that controversy that caused masses of Jeffco AP US History students to take to the streets in protest? - yeah he's been onto those issues for a while and pushing for transparency and accessibility, and supports the students wholeheartedly; 6) oil and gas inspections, local control on fracking, investing in renewables, that sort of thing. He will mess up his numbers in terms of knocking on doors because he'll spend 45 minutes talking to a republican and listening to what they have to say - and he'll make time for his constituents and anyone really to talk to him when he's not campaigning too. He knows my gf from playing soccer - and advocated for me the last time I got committed to hospital, too. He helped a friend of mine sort out her issues with medicaid and advised another friend of mine on pregnancy discrimination issues. His wife is awesome too, funny and sharp and feminist.

I know a politician who is supportive, who even spoke at a December 17th memorial. A Dem. Who has made it through a couple elections now without the fact that he cares about our issues causing scandal. Maybe because he is a former social worker, and it's his way to care about people and also to be reasonable and relatively well-informed. I don't think the Repubs would be able to make a scandal of it.
