I would like to enlist your help with a project if you might be interested (with credit for the idea going mostly to Emi Koyama, and I have discussed the idea also with Meg F and with my girlfriend). Like a lot of local SWOP chapters, SWOP Denver has a Bad Date Line where we have received reports of bad dates. In other cities such as Portland, there are Bad Date Lines administered by other organizations. There are also, as you probably know, quite a number of national blacklists, though they are not controlled by sex workers, many cost money, and some are used by law enforcement. This project would involve collecting Bad Date-related data from all these sources, and storing them in a database that would be accessible by SMS, and there could be app versions for smartphone users as well (but obviously this is not absolutely necessary). The database should be accessible by SMS in terms of both retrieving data and submitting data. It should include enough data to search by location and identifiers, including license plates, physical features, and aliases/emails/etc. when possible. There should also be a website where one can search as well, as well as pull lists by location and other identifiers. This should all be controlled and administered by current and former sex workers.
