Hey! Yeah, totally. I hear you and, as a trans woman, I agree 100%. I chose to word the article the way that I did because so often conversations around sex work (including the court case and subsequent media I’m discussing) and HIV place trans people in some mystical third category rather than in our actual genders. Which is totally stupid and ridic. I debated while I was writing it about specifying cis women with the term cis women, but I figured that if Justin Trudeau ever did read this, he wouldn’t get it. So that’s my reasoning for how it ended up being worded like that. But, obviously this wasn’t a great move, so I’m sorry. Next time I will think more carefully.
