We actually never made it to the zoo as we got lost (something like 30 minutes out of the way) and just ended up eating at a Benihana in a small suburb south of the city. She was cute. I was cute. We were both young and in love (her with my money and me with the fact that it was my first stripper date). I was stoked because I didn’t want much to go to the zoo any ole way. As it turns out she hated oriental food and I thought she sounded like Cindy Lauper with a frog in her throat. Mostly a good evening but the real bonus is this. Fast forward 15 years later and my in-laws have moved to within 2 miles of this Benihana. It is their favorite place to go when we visit. Each vist is seemingly more brilliant than the last as for whatever reason I feel like I am getting away with something (like still not having gone to the zoo). The moral of this story is … Men still don’t ask for directions even when there is a stripper in the car.
