Jessica Land is a sex workers’ rights activist, and has been a member of the Prostitutes of New York (PONY), Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP), and Desiree Alliance. She worked under Priscilla Alexander, co-editor of Sex Work: Writings by Women in the Sex Industry, at the Foundation for Research on STD’s, an organization founded to address the needs of street-based sex workers in NYC. She later served as Board Chair of SWOP-East in Durham, NC. Jessica authored the “News Shorts” column in $pread Magazine for two years, and has contributed to boundnotgagged.com. Most recently, she worked with the North Carolina Harm Reduction Coalition and has done occasional speaking engagements on issues affecting sex workers.
