In reply to John Johnson. I could be mistaken, of course, but I strongly suspect that Matt was being ironic - to the point of parody. Of course ego and their own $$$$ are what it's really all about. And, depressingly, it may well be a rousing success because so many people will want to watch and feel superior to those poor deluded, immoral, low-class prostitutes. (That last part was irony too.)

The act of giving the money is one of the bits that is not legal so I no, I do not see them being all that quick to be doing so.

1. The show is being backed by A&E, the E being for ENTERTAINMENT. If it isn’t sensational, it isn’t entertaining thus will not sell ads for them thus will not air.
2. As for their egos, the only reason it is on TV is the ego. Look at me, I am going to go and save that whore from her own destruction, see how wonderful I am. If it wasn’t about ego, he wouldn’t have us watching him be a hero
3. He has the cops on speed dial, he knows what he is doing will at one point produce a pimp who is pissed that some little fucker is screwing up his cash flow. He is putting the workers and the entire crew in danger and he knows it. As for the speed dial, he knows that is all but useless. There is a van following him with at least 2 gunmen inside of it. The moment there is a whiff of trouble the gunmen are out to extract the TV crew and Brown, leaving the worker to face the angry pimp.

This is all about ego Matt, all about ego and how much $$$ A&E will make out of this

I presume whether he “convinces” them or not, he/the production team will still be fairly compensating the women for their time, which is, of course, what they’ve both legally agreed to meet for. I mean, the show is a profit-making enterprise, so I have no doubt they’ll be ethical and at least make sure the workers aren’t out of pocket thanks to their efforts. They seem like they have the women’s best interests, rather than sensationalism and their own egos, front and centre on this.

I’d pay money for a show where a non-Christian (Jew, Muslim, Atheist, Hindu; I don’t care) is given 8 minutes to convince a Christian Evangelical clergyman (for they are almost all men) that Christianity is a crock and they should give it up for [Judaism|Islam|Hinduism|Atheism]. Or a show where cops bust proselytizers going door to door, like Mormons or Jehovah’s Witnesses. Or where cops bust those lunatics who scream at women going into health clinics.

Also, I’d like a pony.

Though I agree with the crux of it, I’m rather offended by the Slavealicious photo. Sure I get that now-a-days the grand excuse to shut down professionals is forced slavery/trafficking, and is in 99% of the cases simply used as a propaganda tool…..Yet fact of the matter is there are countless people trapped in the slave trade. Most will never get to vent their experience in that their ultimate end is bleak/fatal at best. I one of the rare lucky ones.

Forced Slavery is very real, and going on near you no matter how white picket fence your community. That makes it doubly offensive when Law Enforcement uses it as their pat excuse in that even more so, those victims were used once more, then forgotten.
