The Greatest Strip Club Song Of All Time: Sweet Sixteen

stripperballWe’re down to the regional finalists in our contest to determine The Greatest Strip Club Song Of All Time! Congratulations to the top four in each region, and good luck! Here is the complete bracket and here is a Spotify playlist of the remaining sixteen contestants.

The Hip Hop/R&B region has played out in surprising fashion, with three double-digit seeds moving into the Sweet Sixteen. Unsurprisingly, “Pony” continues its domination of the field, next facing Khia’s ode to cunnilingus, “My Neck, My Back,” fresh off a decisive pounding of “Perfect Gentleman.” Telling a dude to go down  >  Captain
Save-a-ho.

In Dance/Pop, top seed “Closer” survives, easily. Somewhat shocking was the large margin of victory for “Fuck The Pain Away” (66%) over “I Sit On Acid” (37%). Can Peaches’ contribution to the strip club scene in Lost In Translation really be more ubiquitous than the played-somewhere-every-night Lords of Acid classic? I know that for the strippers I talked to, it was the most difficult choice in this region. It’s looking strong going up against “Trip Like I Do.”

“Crazy Train” bested “She Rides” in our closest contest yet, winning by a single vote. White Zombie, Tool, and Marilyn Manson round out a surprisingly dark regional final. Buckcherry, no one’s sorry to see you go.

Classics region fans might be sorry to see Bon Jovi’s lost to Def Leppard, but I’m more surprised by the continued dominance of “I Touch Myself,” this time over “Baby Got Back.” Can “Girls, Girls, Girls” take it out?

Voting in this round is open until midnight PST on Sunday.
